Maya’s Journey to Independence
Maya joined the Novi Dom community in March, and in just four months, she has made incredible progress. With dedicated support from our team—including help with CV writing, interview preparation, referencing, and on-site support sessions—Maya was able to secure employment and take the next big step toward independent living.
Thanks to her determination and the tailored guidance she received, Maya is now confidently living on her own and building a bright future. We’re proud to have been part of her journey and look forward to seeing all she continues to.
Donia’s Journey
Donia, a Syrian refugee, joined the Novi Dom community in March. She currently lives in shared accommodation, where she has built strong friendships with her flatmates. Together, they’ve created a welcoming environment that promotes social inclusion and a true sense of community.
Donia has been working closely with both Maha and Maja, and in a short time has made great progress. She recently received a free laptop from Second Choice, which has been a valuable support for her daily needs. We’ve also connected her with The Salvation Army, where she’s now volunteering at a children’s clothing bank, helping sort through donations and give back to the local community.
Eager to grow and adapt, Donia has applied for in-person English classes starting in the new year and, in the meantime, has already begun online courses to improve her language skills. Her motivation and positivity are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to be part of her journey.
